We highly value the role of PE and sport. We appreciate the benefits it brings to the children in terms of their health, social development, leadership skills, competitiveness, and skill development.

A range of opportunities are provided for the children to experience and practise a variety of sports. The school also enters local sports fixtures and tournaments, and has enjoyed a good deal of success with its teams in recent years.

Through PE lessons and activities, we try to encourage the children to live an active and healthy lifestyle. The children usually receive 2 hours of PE lessons each week. Lessons take place either in the school hall, on the new playground, and on the school field.

The children also take part in PE festivals run by Tone School Sports Partnership, at venues such as Blackbrook pavilion, Kingsmead school and Norton Manor camp.

There is also an extensive range of ‘sporty’ after-school clubs running throughout the school year.

The children compete in a variety of sports in the TSSP Central Venue Leagues, as well as some friendly fixtures.

All children attend a weekly session at the local outdoor heated swimming pool during June and July.
