Welcome to year 3 Beech class.
Curriculum Letter November 2017
Here are our experiences for the next half term. If anyone has any expertise that they would like to contribute towards any of our topics, please let me know!
Curriculum – our topic experiences this term will be:
• 30th October – 24th November – Is nutrition a life saver? We will be looking at how animals get their nutrition and the importance nutrition plays in animal survival. We will also investigate the role of the muscular and skeletal system.
• 13th November – 17th November – Anti-Bullying week. This week we will be discussing and defining bullying and we can do to support our peers.
• 27th November – 1st December – Computing week.
• 4th December – 21st December – RE – What does it mean to belong to religion? We will explore various aspects of Christian festivals, celebrations and practices linking in with their beliefs and the obvious imminent Christian celebration!
English – Reading.
Please continue to hear your child read as often as possible and note it in their Home Learning Record books.
English – Spelling.
Spellings are sent out on a Monday and then tested the following Monday. Please allow time for your children to practise them in preparation for this.
Mathematics – Times tables
Every Friday, the children are tested on their times tables which we have already seen a great improvement in. As the children are expected to know all their tables by the end of year 4, it is important that they are practising these as often as possible. The children have their logins to TTRockstars in their Home Learning Records.
Wildside Experience Residential Trip
Thank you to those who have paid the deposit for our Wildside Experience trip. I still have a few of the permission slips missing so please return these as soon as possible.
PE sessions are on Thursdays and Fridays. Please make sure that the children have weather appropriate clothing as the weather is getting colder.
